Highland Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Augusta, GA . The professional and courteous staff at Highland Animal Hospital seeks to provide the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care for their valued patients. We strive to promote responsible pet ownership, health-related education, and preventative health care opportunities for our clients. Vaccine Information

Puppies

  • Puppies should have vaccines done at 6, 9, 12, and 16 weeks of age and then at least once a year afterwards. They should have a physical checkup, heartworm test, fecal exam to test for internal parasites, and their DHPP, Rabies, and Kennel Cough vaccines. For more information about any of the viruses below please click on the highlighted text.
  • At 6 weeks they receive their DHPP vaccine. This vaccinates against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza viruses.
  • At 9 weeks they receive a second series of DHPP which boost the first and if it is a larger breed puppy they may also receive the Leptospirosis vaccine.
  • At 12 weeks they receive a third DHPP vaccine to boost the first two and also their first Bordetella/Kennel Cough vaccine.
  • Finally at 16 weeks they receive their final DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella/Kennel Cough vaccine booster.
